Transition SLV has begun!

Felton Covered BridgeWe are excited to report that Transition Santa Cruz is no longer the only Transition Initiative in our county. Thanks to the efforts of Judith Broadhurst, Transition San Lorenzo Valley is now underway! She has been meeting with members of the Valley Women's Club and others, and is passing on the contagious "Transition virus."

Transition Santa Cruz intends to serve as a "hub" for the development of Transition Initiatives around Santa Cruz County. Here is a bit about the "hub" role from the Transition Network's "Transition Primer":

We envisage that the relationship between the Hub and the initiatives in the Locale will be mutually supportive and, at least initially, informal. We’re hoping that within the Locale, the various initiatives will also network vigorously together and become mutually supportive, recognising that a community is only as resilient as its neighbours.

In the coming months (and years) we will be working out the details of what it means to be a hub...and we hope to soon hear from you fired-up Transitioners in Capitola, Watsonville, Aptos, so we can really get rolling on a county level!
