Santa Cruz native Martha Mendoza, a Pulitzer Prize winning AP journalist, keynotes debut feature Tapped, an unflinching examination of the big business of bottled water. From the producers of 'Who Killed the Electric Car' and 'I.O.U.S.A.,' this timely documentary is a behind-the-scenes look into the unregulated and unseen world of an industry that aims to privatize and sell back the one resource that ought never to become a commodity: our water.
Hosted by Santa Cruz-based green living advocates Elizabeth Borelli and Jill Troderman at Eco-Herbalista.com, joined by local environmental non-profits Save Our Shores and Ecology Action, the event will educate community members about the tremendous and environmentally egregious hold that corporations have over our choices as citizens and consumers, as well as create ways to make a difference at a local level.
