The Peacemaker Story with Jon Young

Friday, June 18

Waldorf School,
2190 Empire Grade
Free/by donation

Here is a special invitation to come hear one of the most important stories of our time - The Peacemaker Story, told by Jon Young.

The Peacemaker Story is a story of the Hodenosaunee People (Iroquois Confederacy) and is surprisingly a huge part of our lineage in this country. This story presents triumphs of peace from the past and paints a vision for community for the next 200 years.

This is also a chance to check out Jon and consider joining him for one of the Getting Nature Connected weekends he is leading at the Waldorf School. These weekends include both adults' and kids' programs. More at his site.

World-renown ecological artists

Join us as our monthly gathering becomes our first Potluck with a Purpose, a dinner potluck that we will make yummy together with the things we bring.

There will be a needs and offers board where you can participate in all kinds of resource-sharing, a share table where you can share surplus garden produce and the like, and a topic of the month after we clear the dishes away.

The topic part of the evening will be a rare opportunity to visit with two luminaries in the field of ecological art and community action on behalf of ecosystems.

Transition Initiatives understand that having the tools to resolve social conflict is essential for an era in which declining resources prod us to greater interdependence. We're grateful to sponsor a 5- week series in Nonviolent Communication for Social Change, led by Kristin Masters. Kristin plans to explore "4 keys to social change work in the spirit of NVC: Transform enemy images, grief/despair work, coming from a beautiful vision, celebration/gratitude. This will all be applied to the movements you are passionate about, the change you wish to be and see in our world."
